Qualitative and Phenomenological Research

Exploring Money as a Human Symbol

Money is second only to language in its existence as immensely practical, full of meaning, shared with everyone around us, and nearly impossible to escape from... but which has no real usefulness as an object.

As the world and its economies change at rapid speed, we need in-depth research to learn how human beings make sense of it all.

Current Research Projects

If you live in the greater Seattle area, you might be interested in describing your experience with money in a qualitative research interview.  Typically, we meet for two hour long interviews and you receive a written analysis of the deeper meanings that emerge from your words.  You would likely learn about your self and your situation.  You would also lend your experience to better understanding of modern financial life.

All information is kept in the strictest confidence.  No compensation is currently provided.

Project #1:  How does your world change when your level of financial security change? (Interview Stage)

Have you experienced a significant change in your level of financial security in the past year or so?  Whether you now have significantly more money or have lost financial stability you once enjoyed, your life is now different in both clear and subtle ways. If you are interested in telling me about this experience in some detail, please Contact me to schedule an interview.
